Photographic Safaris
A dedicated photographic safari to any destination in Africa should entail following light and subject to optimize the best result for your photography. We feel that it does not really matter what you are photographing, as long as you are photographing it well. There is often a camaraderie amongst fellow photographers, artists and recorders where everyone gets to share their knowledge and experiences. We like to get up early, often before sunrise to be in the best position possible for sunrise and will often spend all day behind the cameras taking short breaks for meals and a rest. Be assured that your time in the African bush will be optimized so that you return home with epic results.
It is possible to conduct these safaris in a variety of ways. Our most popular is on a private expedition style safari where we are in total control of daily events, location and meals. Sometimes its best to pack a flask and a picnic creating flexibility for the photography. Some locations like in the Luangwa valleys in Zambia, pans of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe and Mkuzi in
South Africa have hides where we can sit and photograph and observe all day.
Other destinations make use of boats for heronries like in the Okavango,
whilst others are vehicle based and moving with the wildlife like on the
Serengeti plains of Tanzania. Underwater photographers can get advice on
great locations to access some spectacular sites on the African coast like Mafia
Island off Tanzania.

Photography Workshops
Today many people own a digital camera and have an affinity for wildlife. Now you can join a wildlife photography workshop that will teach you about your camera and wildlife behavior together. The workshops are intensive and cover many of the technical attributes that your camera has to offer. The courses offers everything from landscape photography through to getting great portraits, behavioral shots and the more experimental artistic shots like slow motion blur and black & white imagery. There is no doubt that there is always much to learn – in fact, we should never stop.

On a daily basis, we see behavior of different animals   – some of which are unrecorded. And the best way to share this amazing planet is through digital photography. We feel that by you taking strong and powerful images and sharing them will indeed contribute to awareness across the planet!

Adventure Safaris
Travellers can easily combine adventure with wildlife and conduct safaris from horseback, in canoes and kayaks, on foot or on a dhow.

Horseback safaris in Africa: Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Makgadikgadi Pans
Explore vast eco-systems from horseback in Botswana. The freedom of being close to wildlife on a horse is second to none. Morning rides can often be four to five hours long with plenty of trotting, cantering and galloping in between watching animal behavior. Rustic camps offer comfortable accommodation and great food for the weary riders.

Dhow Safaris: Mozambique and Tanzania
Dhow sailing off the eastern coast is a brilliant way to explore the pristine waters of Africa. One can  even see whales from these centuries old design sailing vessels. Explore parts of the Bazoruto archipelago by sailing between islands or sail around Mozambique Island. Scuba Dive and snorkel to see the delicate underwater ecosystems of earths colourful aquatic animals.

Kayaking and canoeing: Botswana, Zimbabwe and Madagascar
Great adventures worthy of mention is a trans Okavango kayak trip, a Zambezi River canoe safari or a river and sea kayaking trip in Madagascar. The logistics are all taken care of along the routes – your job is to paddle and enjoy these unique environments. (not for the feint hearted)

Dive Africa: Africa boasts some world class dive destinations including the Aliwal Shoal off the east coast of South Africa, Bazaruto archipelago and Pemba Island off Mozambique and Mafia Island off the coast of Tanzania. Perfect for a surf and turf safari by adding on a dive destination to your trip.

Conservation Safaris
These trips offer so much more than a classic safari and you learn from the people who know. Tailor made and all for you, this is a trip to understand more of the great wilderness we love so much.
Get to know your destination through the eyes of those living and breathing the African bush. These expeditions show you true Africa from the small villages living and dealing with wildlife all the way through to those studying and protecting these fragile areas.
These are our favourite safaris. Combined with our photography expeditions these trips broaden the understanding of human/wildlife conflicts, ecosystems, wildlife corridors, fences and so much more.Whether you want to know how people live their everyday lives or understand the biology and behaviour of a species, we can cater for all. On your safari we will invite specialists to join your expedition. They will explain tracking, research and how they deal with life in the bush and you’ll have opportunities to ask those niggling questions on conservation. We recommend at least 2 weeks for your Conservation trip. Activities are all based around wildlife and education.
